Frequently asked questions.

1. What is the principle behind the Dermomask technique?

The Dermomask technique directly stimulates the production and redistribution of collagen and elastin fibers. A serum containing natural active ingredients is applied to the skin and delivered through the epidermis to promote the reconstruction of the damaged collagen matrix.

This is achieved by using a handpiece with single-use, specialized microneedles that create tiny microchannels in the skin. The serum flows into these channels to reach the dermal layer where collagen production occurs. This process is known as percutaneous collagen induction therapy.

2. Is Dermomask the same as microneedling?

No, the key to Dermomask’s effectiveness lies in the specially formulated serum of active ingredients, which sets it apart from typical microneedling treatments.

3. Is the treatment painful?

No, the treatment is painless. We apply a powerful numbing cream a couple of hours before the session to ensure comfort.

4. Will I see results immediately after one session?

No, results typically require an average of 3 sessions spaced 6 weeks apart. Visible improvements generally begin around 12 weeks, as this is the time needed for collagen production.

5. Can I undergo Dermomask treatment if my skin is prone to hyperpigmentation?

If you’ve had hyperpigmentation in the past, we will first conduct a patch test. If you are prone to hyperpigmentation, we will adjust the treatment to be more superficial, avoiding deeper layers of pigment cells. We can also provide topical treatments before and after each session to manage pigmentation. It’s essential to avoid sun exposure after treatment or apply sunblock daily.

6. Can multiple areas be treated in one session?

Each standard session lasts about one hour. If this is insufficient to cover all your areas of concern, you may need additional sessions.

7. Are there any side effects to Dermomask?

There are no known side effects, and we’ve never encountered an allergic reaction to the treatment.

8. Are there any contraindications to Dermomask?

Yes, contraindications include pregnancy, autoimmune diseases, undergoing chemotherapy, and serious skin conditions.

9. Do I need recovery time after a Dermomask session?

No, there’s no need for downtime. You can resume most activities, like going to the gym, within a week. However, you should wait for full recovery before swimming.

10. Is there any aftercare following the treatment?

After each session, your skin may appear red and slightly swollen. We recommend keeping the treated area clean and applying a healing cream, such as Cicaplast by La Roche-Posay, twice a day.

11. Why is Dermomask better than other techniques?

Dermomask provides faster and more effective results with fewer sessions compared to other stretch mark treatments available.
